Script:

I don’t usually imbibe on libations

A man, chad, walks into a run down dive bar. Its dim and empty except for a couple of regulars at the end of the bar. Chad walks up to the end of the bar away from the other patrons, obviously seeking solitude. The bartender walks up…

Bartender
What can I get for ya?

Chad
Give me a double of your most expensive whiskey

Bartender
You got it. (starts making the drink) haven’t seen you around these parts before…

Chad
I don’t usually imbibe on libations, but it seemed like a good night to indulge.

Bartender
What’s the special occasion?

Chad
Tonight I’m having a drink for a man I never met.

Bartender
What could a man you’ve never met have done that's worth you spending 40 dollars a shot on whiskey in a place like this?

Chad
He hasn’t done anything. Nothing worth mentioning anyway.

Bartender
So then what are you drinking to?

Chad
I don’t know really. To the inevitable end? To the human experience? Or maybe I’m simply sitting here stirring a whiskey waiting for a man to die. (takes a sip and the bartender looks at him with an inquisitive look) you see, she called me tonight. Told me all about him. How he makes her feel. How hard she tries and how he keeps pulling away.
Now she’s lost and afraid, habitually reaching out to me for her shoulder to cry on.

Bartender
So it sounds like she loves another man and you can’t handle that you’ve been put in the friend zone, sorry brother.

Chad
It’s not like that exactly. She’s unhappy in her current state and can’t get out.

Bartender
Sounds pretty standard to me. Why doesn’t she just break up with him?

Chad
Well… because he’s dying. I realized tonight that he’s pushing her away to spare her the pain. He doesn’t want to put her through that, he can’t handle seeing her watch him waste away. I want to hate him, more than anything, but I can’t. I just can’t. what kind of monster sits and wishes the worst on a terminally ill man? He’s slowly deteriorating and I can’t help but view him as the world’s luckiest man.

Bartender
Does she know how you feel?

Chad
Of course. But she won’t leave him and I’ll never ask her to. She’ll stay at his side until the end.

Bartender
Let me ask you something… who are you waiting for to die, him or you?

Chad
I’m already gone. Just because I’m breathing doesn’t mean I’m alive
(he takes another big swig of his drink)

Bartender
No offense, brother, but just because your hearts beating doesn’t mean you're in love either. (notices that chad has now finished his drink)
Can I get you another one, it’s on me?

Chad
Thanks.

Bartender
Ya know, You won’t find the answers in the bottom of that glass?

Chad
Maybe not, but at least it’ll help me forget the questions.

Documentary subjects

1. Mark Metzger

Mark Metzger is from Toledo Ohio. I first met him 10 years ago when our bands played a show together. After the course of these 10 years Mark has gone on to start his own Screen Printing company, gone on tour over in Europe with his friends in Hit The Lights, and also maintained 2 off his own bands back in Ohio. Mark most recently started a non profit organization in his home town of Toledo after a recent water crisis called "A Greater Toledo" to gain funds to donate  to water.org to help fund projects for clean water for people who need it.

2. Zack Blackwood

This is Zack Blackwood. Over the last year or so Zack and a couple of his buddies started their own business called Burn Em' Brewing, and in case you didn't know from the name, they brew beer. They have created a quick niche for themselves in a short amount of time and growing quickly, so quick that Zack was able to quit his part time job to focus on his business full time. Burn Em' is part of a tight, thriving micro bee community that helped them get their feet off the ground.

                                                                3. Jon Silveus

Jon Silveus is my dad. I know its kind of strange to want to interview my own father, but he's kind of awesome. He's a dad and a grandpa that works at a factory full time by day. But by night he helps  work for Top Shot Armory selling, trading, and buying guns and ammo at their store or Gun shows. Did I mention he's also a Pit Master? He's especially into catering and barbecue competitions. He's won a great deal of awards ranging from county Fairs to nationally KCBS sanctioned events, using his own smoker/cooker and grill set ups that he has built himself.

Video Treatment

Title: Rock N’Roll Is Back

Tagline: Rock’s Not Dead

First you will see the band enter an old movie theatre with ROCK N’ ROLL IS

BACK on the kiosk over head. Then we will cut to a shot of them sitting down in a

row with food and drinks. Then the movie starts. The movie is going to be in

black and white and look like old monster movies.

It starts off with a far away exterior shot of a castle and slowly fades into a dark

hallway. We look from the cameras point of view and continue down the

hall way through a door at the end and turn the corner. Slowly you see the camera

pan across lab equipment, jars of body parts, etc. to see two scientist, which are

played by two band members, working over a table with a body under a sheet.

The exam table and scientists will be centered and show them working on

the body. An “Igor” type of character, a third band member, walks up with a bag and

starts pulling out body parts. He delivers a heart, an arm, and offers the scientists a

brain which they refuse. He quickly turns back around with a guitar and the

scientists accept that.  The Igor character walks off screen while the scientists start

to add the parts to the monster on the table, the 4th and final band member.

Igor returns with a bowl of eyeballs and allows the scientists to pick a couple

out that he wishes to use. When the scientist starts to put those in the body, the

camera pans back a little and Igor and the second scientist are standing off to the

back right and the scientist in front operating becomes blurred. Focus is now on the

two in back, Igor starts just watching and eating the eyeballs out of the bowl like

popcorn as he watches the scientist. He offers them to the other scientist who

refuses and appears very disgusted and Igor shrugs it off and keeps eating as if he’s

thinking, more for me. Cut to the band in the theatre and they kind of stop eating

their popcorn out of disgust They sew up the monster and now its time to move him

to the reanimation chamber. The three, hilariously move this big monsters body

down stairs and place him in the animation chamber.

The scientists are now turning on the machine and lights start flashing and

smoke starts billowing out. One of the scientists starts mouthing “IT’S ALIVE!!”

inserted into the frame will be a title card that says it instead like an old silent film,

there will be others placed through out the video as well. We cut back to the

machine being opened and as the big guitar solo comes in the Monster emerges

from the chamber with guitar in hand wailing the solo. We pan back to see the rest

of the band playing with him. The chamber will be in the center with the lights and

smoke and the monster in front of it. The rest of the video will be various shots of

the band rocking out to rest of the song like it’s a live show, with props from the lab

and their coats and glasses draped over amps. End the video with the credits and

pull back to see the band sitting in a theatre making remarks about the film and

leaving film.

SERENITY

Video analysis

This video is all in black and white. Besides it being a great song, the video is a great narrative. It cuts back and forth between the main characters establishing that they aren't with each other but trying to reach other. It uses video footage with more light to show flashback sequences with more serene imagery going on. They introduce the "Villains" represented by darker footage and the fact that they are in all black, the bandanas help give it a away too. There is also a lot of symbolism happening to help represent a secret or something precious being hidden away and eventually brought to light which brings us to a rather tragic ending. Powerful story telling.

 Documentary

 Title:Brew'em if you got 'em

Tagline:Beer is meant to be shared.

The video is inspired by the local Brewery Burn'em Brewery. They have been around only about a year and are blossoming company. The film would include an interview with the brewers and footage of the brewery, and some of the goings on around the brewery, while telling the story of how they got started, the hardships of starting your own business, and what they've been able to accomplish in the past year with the help of the tight knit micro brew community.

 Music Video

 Title:Rock and Roll Is Back

 Tagline: Rock's not Dead

This video would be shot in black and white, in a style like the old Universal Frankenstein monster movies, for the song Rock and Roll Is Back by my band The Prowl. It would feature members of the band in a laboratory, two of them mad scientists operating on the monster lying on a table, one being kind of the "Igor" type character helping the scientist. It would show them bring electricity into the "monster" which is really the drummer, the 4th and final member of their band. commencing rocking.

Self portrait and biography

My name is Josh Silveus. I'm 32 years old. I have been into art and media as far back as I can remember. Straight out of high school I went to college at IUPUI for Graphic design for a couple years before dropping out to pursue music. I came back to school a year ago after being away from it for 10 years. I decided, as much as I love playing music, that being in a band wasn't paying the bills and it was becoming hard to keep doing the same thing for years and never seeing it get past a certain point in the industry. So, I came back to school. I want to be able to still be in the music industry through graphic arts. My final goal is to start my own screen printing company and make T-shirts and posters for bands and businesses. My favorite Movies include… The Goonies, Ghostbusters, Back To The Future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Halloween, House Of 1000 Corpses, Tommy Boy,The Monster Squad, and anything animated by Disney and Pixar (except cars, I really was bored with it). I tend to watch more T.V. shows than movies these days and some of my favorites are Futurama, LOST, Game Of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, and Breaking Bad. I need to mention that my favorite bands are Coheed and Cambria, Frank Turner, Strung Out, Gasoline Heart, Thrice, Black Keys, and Bears Den. The list in all these categories could go on and on and would have me sitting here naming movies and bands all day.
